Judy Wilson has appointed as the new chief executive of South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust.

Ms Wilson, who has been interim chief executive of the trust since February 2009, was previously chief executive of North East London NHS Foundation Trust.

She has a background in mental health nursing and has worked at all levels in the NHS.

Speaking on her appointment, she said: ‘I am delighted to have been appointed as chief executive at such an exciting and important time in the trust’s development.

‘The past few months have been challenging, but I have really enjoyed my time here and have seen a lot of good work and great commitment among my colleagues,’ she said.

‘One of my first priorities as chief executive is to ensure we are clear about our strategic direction as an organisation and that we involve our service users, their carers and our staff in this work,’ she added.
