Nurses are being invited to a training day aimed at reducing the number of falls victims.

Nurses are being invited to a training day aimed at reducing the number of falls victims.

The seminar has been organised by falls nurse Sarah Kench and will take place at Colchester General Hospital on Wednesday, 26 June to coincide with National Falls Awareness Day

Ms Kench said: 'We here at Essex Rivers Healthcare are not immune from this issue - partly because North East Essex has a particularly elderly population. However, the number of falls has been coming down, albeit slowly, since we set up our falls prevention programme, lead by a falls nurse, three years ago.

?The idea of the Falls Seminar is to share best practice which, we believe, will reduce further the number of falls and therefore means the fewer older people will have their quality of life blighted by this issue.?
