The National Diabetes Support Team (NDST) has published a guide for diabetes networks focussing on disease prevention.

NDST director Bev Bookless said: 'With 10% of UK hospital money spent on diabetes and immeasurable personal cost to people who live with the condition, it is essential that we take steps to prevent diabetes.

'This supplement gives diabetes networks practical guidance on how to target people at risk and help people lead healthier lives,' she said.

The NDST was set up in 2003 to help implement the Diabetes National Service Framework.
