Expressions of interest required for the provision of an Occupational Mental Health service for postgraduate doctors and dentists

Health Education North West London, Health Education North Central & East London, and Health Education South London on behalf of Health Education England.

Expressions of interest required for the provision of an Occupational Mental Health service.

This advertisement is intended for organisations that could provide an Occupational Mental Health service for London’s postgraduate medical and dental trainees.

Health Education North West London, Health Education North Central & East London, and Health Education South London on behalf of Health Education England (The Contracting Authority) is seeking bids from providers with the ambition and capacity to deliver professional support for doctors and dentists in postgraduate training, in particular specialised psychotherapeutic interventions (which embrace all the mainstream modalities of psychotherapy), psychological support and counselling.

Successful bidders will be able to see beyond traditional delivery models and provide support in a way that reflects both existing and evolving models of occupational mental health provision. To this end, the ability to provide and sustain a highly engaged and responsive service to meet Health Education England and client needs and expectations will be seen as integral to this procurement.

The Service will be provided primarily on a self-referral basis free of charge to postgraduate doctors and dentists in training, in the first instance, adapting to provide services to learners for other registered health professionals as efficiencies develop.  In cases where there are more appropriate services available either in mainstream or specialist services, the Provider will facilitate the safe transfer of patients to the external service.  Referrals will be accepted from postgraduate medical and dental trainees who require support for a range of conditions affecting their mental health.

The Contracting Authority is expecting to appoint one supplier for this pan-London service.

Expressions of interest must be made by 12:00 noon, 7 November 2014.
