Gail Mooney

Associate professor, Swansea University

Associate professor Gail Mooney specialised as a critical care nurse after qualifying as a nurse in 1979, spending many years working in intensive care units across South Wales.

She worked as a research and development officer and researcher in health sciences.

Since moving into higher education in 2001, she has built up considerable experience in programme development and has considerable expertise in work-based learning.

She also held the position of associate dean for postgraduate studies for a number of years.

She is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Gail has been a member of the Nursing Times editorial board for the past 14 years and a judge for the Nursing Times Awards for over a decade.
