Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge has won an award for its family-friendly employment policies.

The hospital trust has won a Working Families Silver Service Award for its flexible working policy for older staff, which is intended to help them adjust to retirement.

Gareth Goodier, chief executive of the hospital, said: 'We value the older worker as an important resource within the hospital and this award is an acknowledgement of our commitment to maintain our relationship with them.

'The trust invests a great deal in the wellbeing of our staff and we are delighted to have had our hard work recognised,' he added.
