IV anti-inflammatory approved in Scotland

  • Comment
Dyloject – diclofenac sodium solution for injection – has been accepted by the Scottish Medicines Consortium for use within NHS Scotland for the treatment or prevention of post-operative pain by intravenous injection.

The product is a new formulation of diclofenac, the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, available in a convenient ready-to-use formulation for rapid IV bolus injection.

It marks progress on previous formulations which require buffering, dilution and slow infusion over at least 30 minutes, according to manufacturer Javelin Pharmaceuticals.
