A lot of the EU migrants who are 'plugging the gaps' in social care have no experience in care and no desire to pursue careers in care. For many, as with non EU migrants, it's a door into the UK. I recently employed a plumber who had previously worked for a local Dom Care Agency with a poor reputation. He was one of many Eastern Europeans that had joined this company until they found more suitable jobs.
We need to improve the pay and work conditions for care workers, instead of allowing the government to 'plug the gaps' with immigrants.
Shame on every Commissioner that's funding these hellholes, shame on every psychiatrist who's sectioning people who don't need to be sectioned and shame on every nurse working in these places.
AND shame on the uncaring government for massively underfunding community care.
It's not about trusting women, it's about not trusting their husbands and partners.
If this becomes law then many women will be forced by men to have abortions that they don't want.
The RCM are being extremely naive.
Most people with learning difficulties moved from institutional care to residential care 20 years ago!!
There's no information at my GP Surgery about these health checks so if that is common then would explain poor uptake as many people may be unaware of these free checks.
