Kidney disease causes fatigue regardless of treatment

People with chronic kidney disease, regardless of whether they are predialysis or receiving either peritoneal or haemodialysis, experience high levels of fatigue, according to Australian researchers.

They assessed fatigue and activity levels among 112 kidney patients.

They said “renal nurses are “ideally positioned” to help develop care plans incorporating supportive rehabilitative strategies.
