The National Garden Scheme transforms lives across England and Wales by opening gardens to the public. This Gardens and Health Week, they are raising awareness of the impact of garden visiting on well-being.

Luke, diagnosed with Bowel Cancer, explains how being in his garden impacted his well-being. ‘My side effects are kind of ongoing – I hate crowds, and now absolutely love gardening, growing fruit and vegetables, it relaxes me.’

Encourage your patients to get outside, start gardening or find an open garden.
