Helping carers to access support

  • Comment

There are over 1.4 million people in the UK caring for a loved one with cancer. However, less than half of them are accessing support.

As many people don’t recognise themselves as carers, they don’t know what rights they have. By identifying them, you can help them access the support they desperately need.

From rights at work to financial support, help cancer carers access support on Carers Rights Day (24 November) by telling them how Macmillan can help.

Many people living with cancer wouldn’t be able to manage if their carer fell ill with flu. Help cancer carers stay well this winter. Tell them about the free flu vaccination from their GP or pharmacist. It’s another thing that carers are entitled to and many are not aware of.
