money and cancer

money and cancer MACMILLAN ONLY

We’re aiming to increase people’s understanding of the financial impact of a cancer diagnosis and explain how Macmillan can help. Our research tells us that 4 in 5 people with cancer are on average £570 a month worse off because of their diagnosis, and money worries can affect people from any background. We understand that raising the issue of financial support is difficult, but if you speak to your patients about it early, they can access support before things spiral out of control.

Macmillan’s Financial Support Team are available on 0808 808 00 00 to answer questions about benefits, mortgages, household bills and pensions, among other things. They are specialist financial guides, and treat every conversation as confidential.

Please tell your patients about the resources available to them.
