Support at work for people affected by cancer

  • Comment

People who have, or have had, cancer are protected by law from unfair treatment at work. Talking to their employer can be a first step to getting the support they need.

Juan (pictured above) was working when he was diagnosed with cancer. After talking to his boss, they agreed together what support he needed during his treatment. He says, ‘When I told my employer, they were very supportive’.

However, it can be difficult to know where to start, or what to say. We can help.

Please signpost your patients to our step-by-step guide to help them find the words, and to our guide to rights at work.
