MHRA issues alert over PVB arterial pressure monitoring kits

  • Comment
Nurses should check all PVB arterial pressure monitoring kits manufactured by Procter & Gamble, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has warned.

A loose tap insert in the kits could result in the stopcock becoming dislodged, leading to arterial bleeding, the MHRA said in an alert.

The warning applies to all kits with product code STP-9OR, manufactured before September 2008.

Staff should check the date of manufacture on the external packaging of the kits, identify any relevant devices and quarantine them, the MHRA said.
