  • Comment on: NHS Improvement ‘pauses’ start of new agency rule

    Michelle's comment 1 April, 2017 2:03 pm

"It has written to trusts today telling them to “pause”...in order to “engage with the sector”".

So...would it not have made sense to hold a consultation with the people (i.e. us nurses) who would be affected by this BEFORE the planned ban was announced? This is a joke and a shambles. Hope it never sees the light of day again.

    Michelle's comment 26 November, 2016 10:48 am

I never really thought about why the public's perception of nursing could be so different. But the fact that the public do just see the action rather than the thought process behind it is a good point. Great reflective article, thanks!

Fantastic to hear. Good luck for both awards, hope Joby continues his good work!

Interesting that the Nursing Times article with 40+ comments was published on 17th October but the CNO decided to ignore NT's request to read it and instead issued out her blog post published on the 14th October as a 'response'.

    Way to go, CNO.

  • Comment on: Nursing associates will be able to give drugs unsupervised

    Michelle's comment 2 November, 2016 6:43 am

Another thing - why is this course being rushed out when we don't even know what exactly will be expected of nursing associates? The first cohort are expected to start in January yet we're only getting leaked information about their roles two months beforehand. It's not been thought through and is blatantly an attempt by the government et al to plug a huge gap in the nursing sector that the don't appreciate or want to pay for.

Oh, and I expect the NMC will have no wish to regulate the NA's, thus causing further consternation among demoralised nurses nationwide.
