Nottingham University's school of community health sciences is seeking candidates for a newly created chair in health protection.

The post is one of two senior academic posts funded by the Health Protection Agency (HPA), and is part of moves to create a new academic grouping capable of addressing research and development in the modern public health priorities.

The university said the position would combine strong opportunities for research in public health with service commitments with the HPA.

The person appointed will be a member of a newly established Institute of Population Health linked to the clinical sciences building at Nottingham City Hospital.
