New associate director for RCN Scotland

Ellen Hudson has become associate director for the Royal College of Nursing in Scotland.
Ms Hudson joins from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, where she is head of nursing for the rehabilitation and assessment directorate.

Prior to this role, show worked in the Scottish Executive’s health department, where she progressed to deputy chief nursing officer.

Her responsibilities covered acute services, policy and strategy, quality and clinical leadership and research and development.

Ms Hudson began her nursing career in Glasgow, where she gained experience of nursing in burns and plastic surgery units.

She said: ‘I am passionate about supporting nurses and nursing, in particular continuous development and lifelong learning and this post gives me scope to do this.’
