A new institute for Mental Health is to be launched in Nottingham to forge stronger academic links between healthcare organisations in the region.
The institute, which is a joint collaboration between Nottinghamshire NHS Trust and the University of Nottingham, has been formed to bring together academic staff who have shared interests in mental health and are seeking opportunities for greater collaboration.
It is hoped the institute, which will launch on 1 stNovember, will attract larger numbers of post-graduate research students in the disciplines associated with the study and promotion of mental health.
Nick Manning, director of the new institute said: 'We hope that the institute will act as a magnet to improve the recruitment of high quality clinical and academic staff. This will ensure that we can embed research based practice into the care and treatment of mental health illness and learning disability.'
