New recommendations for spinal condition

  • Comment

A set of recommendations has been published to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with the painful and disabling spinal condition Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Frequently mislabelled as sporting injury or back pain, patients can wait as long as ten years before correct diagnosis.

The recommendations, contained in the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society’s Looking Ahead report, were launched last week at the British Society for Rheumatology’s annual conference.
