The Institute of Health Visiting has announced that it has awarded two new honorary fellowships.

Dame Elizabeth Fradd and Lord Victor Adebowale received their honorary fellowships at the institute’s fourth annual celebration event held in London last Wednesday.

The awards were given in recognition of their encouragement to found the institute and their continued support of both itself and the health visiting profession.

The fellowships were “mark the high esteem in which they are held by the institute’s board”, said the organisation that was launched in 2012.

Dr Cheryll Adams, executive director of the institute, said: “Both were instrumental in supporting the founding of the Institute five years ago and this is an acknowledgement of their continued interest in our work.”
