Charity in memory of musician funds specialist nurse

  • Comment

Wales pancreatic cancer charity Amser Justin Time was celebrating last week after securing funding for a new specialist nurse post.

After just a year in existence, the charity has raised enough money to fund a specialist pancreatic nurse for one day a week for two years.

The nurse, Nicki Jardine, will split her time between two sites, University Hospital Wales in Cardiff, and the Velindre Cancer Centre in nearby Whitchurch.

The charity is headed by opera singer Shan Cothi, in memory of her husband, Pepsi Tate – real name Justin Smith – from glam rock band Tigertailz. He died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 42 in 2007.
