CQC removes conditions on A&E departments

  • Comment

The Care Quality Commission has removed two of the five conditions it placed on the registration of Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals Foundation Trust in April.

CQC regional director Frances Carey said: “Although there have been improvements in the A&E department, further improvements need to be made. Our inspectors had concerns about poor practice in the observation of acutely ill patients in the waiting area in A&E, and staff raised concerns about poor provision of training to deal with work-related violence and aggression.”

The CQC lifted all conditions placed on Tameside Foundation Trust, saying it had made improvements to staffing levels and rosters.
