MHRA issues unlicensed medicines warning

  • Comment

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has issued a warning to Polish-run stores not to stock unlicensed medicines.

The warning comes after enforcement officers from the agency visited Polish convenience stores in Hull and seized unlicensed medicines including aspirin, ibuprofen and children’s cough medicines.

The MHRA said Polish medicines imported into the UK for sale in Polish-labelled packs were not legally allowed to be sold.

All medicines for sale in the UK must be labelled in English.
