Nurse trapped in ironing board freed by fire brigade

  • Comment

The fire brigade had to rescue Macclesfield nurse Michelle Thomas after she became trapped in an ironing board.

Ms Thomas, 43, reached out to grab the board, having knocked it over, and got her thumb wedged in the locking mechanism.

Luckily her seven year old son was on hand to get her a phone so she could dial 999.

“I felt so stupid. It felt like my thumb would break if I moved. The fire brigade were brilliant,” she told the Manchester Evening News.
