NHS worker faces porn and webcam allegations

A hospital worker in Weston-super-Mare will appear before a competence committee over allegations he secretly set up a webcam in a bedroom used by doctors and nurses on call.

David Gibbs, a biomedical scientist at Weston General Hospital, is accused of misconduct over allegations that he connected the webcam to a computer in the bedroom used by doctors and nurses working night shifts between October 1 and 7, 2007.

It is also alleged that he downloaded pornography on to a hospital computer on two occasions in September 2007 and that he downloaded pornographic material on to compact discs owned by the hospital between February and July 2007.

Mr Gibbs will appear before the Health Professions Council’s conduct and competence committee in London on May 22.
