NI brings in new visitor guidelines

  • Comment
Hospital visitors must obtain permission from the nurse in charge of the relevant ward before bringing in food, according to new guidelines in Northern Ireland.

Additionally, the start of each visiting period, which should last no more than two hours, should be supervised by a member of the ward staff.

They should also remind visitors to wash their hands, health minister for Northern Ireland Michael McGimpsey said last week.
