It will form part of the University of Swansea and provide training for nurses and other health professionals. It features a four-bed ward, nurse's work station, infection control room and other simulated facilities.

The centre, which is based at St David's Park, Carmarthen, will officially open on Monday 19 February.

Andrew Russell, a third year adult nursing student, said: 'The new facility has oved teaching to another level, and we now feel more prepared to face the challenges ahead in nursing in the 21 stcentury.'
