Nurses advised to ignore bogus palliative care job claim

A bogus organisation is advertising for nurses in the Philippines, claiming to represent National Council for Palliative Care.

The council – the umbrella organisation for those involved in providing palliative care and hospice services in England, Wales & Northern Ireland – said it had come to its attention that a bogus organisation in the Philippines was advertising for nurse recruitment under the banner of NCPC.

Jobs have been advertised in the Manilla Bulletin and on the Jobstreet Philippines website, the council said.

In a statement it added that the NCPC does not work in the Philippines and does not recruit nurses.

‘If you are contacted by this organisation or have seen their advert please do not respond and do not send them any money, as it is in no way connected with NCPC and we believe this to be a fraudulent operation,’ the council said.

NCPC added that it was taking the matter ‘very seriously’ and was in contact with relevant parties in the Philippines.
