NURSES at a London hospital could face disciplinary actionfor drinking cups of tea from ward trolleys.

Clinical staff at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, east London have been reminded that hot drinks and food are intended for hospital patients and should not be used by members of staff.

Barts and The London NHS Trust have also asked staff to buy their own tea bags, milk and sugar.

A trust spokesperson said: 'Like all employees at the Trust, clinical staff are asked to make other arrangements such as buying their own stocks. It is not expected disciplinary action will be necessary.'
