Community nurses are being offered the opportunity to work with the Moscow Red Cross as part of an exchange programme run by the Queens Nursing Institute (QNI).

Community nurses are being offered the opportunity to work with the Moscow Red Cross as part of an exchange programme run by the Queens Nursing Institute (QNI).

Two UK community nurses, specialising in work with older people, will be selected to spend a fortnight working in Russia. In return two nurses from the Moscow Red Cross will receive a return visit with the QNI.

'It will be very interesting for nurses see the financial and social conditions through an organisation like the Moscow Red Cross,' said QNI director Rosemary Cook. 'It's obviously a different system but I think, particularly with increasing diversity of our own system, nurses could learn a lot from it.'

Deadline for UK applications to the award should reach the QNI by 21 December. Russian nurses must apply by 30 November. Application forms can be found at ww.qni.org.uk
