Nurses urged to get on their bike for breast cancer

The charity Breast Cancer Campaign is calling on nurses to get on their bike to help raise money.

The charity is looking for people to join in its annual London to Paris bike ride this summer and help raise vital funds for breast cancer research.

‘Being in direct contact with patients, nurses often see the full impact breast cancer can have but you can help by taking part in this popular challenge,’ the charity said. ‘Running from 21-24 August 2009, the ride is designed to push your stamina to the limits as participants tackle the task of cycling nearly 200 miles in just three days.’

Sarah England, Breast Cancer Campaign’s events executive, said: ‘The London to Paris bike ride is perfect for anyone looking for a new physical challenge and is a great way to meet new friends while exploring the French countryside. Plus the money raised will help the charity beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research.’

Nurses who are interested in taking part in the event must register by June 2009. The initial cost of the challenge is£150 for a deposit, followed by£1,200 minimum sponsorship. For more information about the London to Paris bike ride phone 020 7749 3700 or email
