  • Comment

Professor Donna Mead has been appointed as a non-executive director of Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust by Welsh Assembly health minister Edwina Hart.

Professor Mead, from Glynneath, who is also dean of the faculty of health, sport and science at the University of Glamorgan, will receive £12,000 a year and commit four days a month to the position, which concludes in March 2011.

The appointment of Professor Mead follows the retirement of Mike Badham from the trust’s board.
Dr Brian Willott, chairman of Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust, said: ‘I am delighted to report that the trust board has been strengthened by the appointment of Professor Donna Mead as non-executive director to the trust. She will bring an important area of wide experience to the board.’

Professor Mead begins the role with immediate effect.
