What was it like?
This small pocket sized book gives practical advice about how to do the things you want to do now. It navigates the reader through a journey of taking action to achieve the goals and expectations that they set for themselves. With motivational and philosophical quotes from literature, movies and inspirational “do-ers” this book provides a quick guide to moving forward successfully. The book is accessible to all, with images to support its suggestions and practical tools such as setting SMART goals and quizzes to determine what is stopping you achieving your goals currently.
What were the highlights?
For me the perspectives in this book are useful and I particularly like the ownership that the author gives the reader in the last few pages, putting the success of achieving goals down to the individual. I feel the tools and practical suggestions are transferable to various career paths and personal goals that we set ourselves around the house or in our personal lives.
Strengths & weaknesses:
A strength of this book is its simple depiction of setting goals and evaluating our failures and successes.
Who should read it?
I think this book is a short, sharp and witty directory for those in need of some motivational tips to start planning what it is they want to achieve successfully. While it may not hold all the answers, it is a good place to start and enjoyable.
