  • I missed the twitchat but I am interested to hear how this squares with Foundation degree in Health and Social Care leading to Assistant Practitioner status. The roles for 'assistants' to nurses are already many and various and there is no consistency around what constitutes an HCA role nationally. The first requirement must be to define the role. Second - design the preparation/education required. Third - see if it can map into existing 'career' structures. And fourth? Regulate.
