Comment on: CNO spends £1m on consultants
A voluntary male patient dies at the door of the ward while nurses and nurse managers walk over him. Presumably this was part of his care plan, risk assessed and had his full agreement. OH! hang on he was a "drug user", e.g. anti-psychotics, alcohol and other drugs, only we don't know because the nursing staff didn't check. If that was Christine Beasley or one of her consultants the situation would be different. Not fit for purpose, any of them!
Comment on: Government calls for shake-up of NMC
I am disapointed, dismayed and believe that the N.M.C. no longer holds the confidence of nurses or the public. I would call for the dismantling of this "Registration" body. I would like to see a " Fully democratically elected governing body" with free and open elections every "Two" years. Give us back our "Profession".
Comment on: The future of nursing careers
Yet again I am in "despair " that the same old tripe is being seen as an "Advance" in Nursing, Pre. and Post qualifying. I have met too many "Nurses" with no experience of I/M INJECTION, BASIC ANATOMICAL KNOWLEDGE,HYDRATION IN ACUTE ILLNESS, NURSING THE UNCONSCIOUS and GENERAL MEDICAL CONDITIONS e.g.DIABETES. All these and much, much more were required for me to become competent and allowed to take "Hospital and State Finals". Yes , some of us are still alive and "kicking". Who replaces us!!!!!!
