PM's commission final report due

  • Comment

The final report of the Prime Minister’s Commission on the Future of Nursing and Midwifery is due to be published today.

As revealed last month, Nursing Times has seen the commission’s draft recommendations (news, page 1-3, 16 February).

Recommendations included asking all nurses to make a pledge to show their commitment to high quality and compassionate care – intended to restore public trust in the profession – taking action to strengthen the role of ward sisters and charge nurses, and launching a national marketing campaign to grow public support for nursing as a graduate calibre profession.
