Princess Muna of Jordan has been appointed vice-president of the RCN.

The princess, who was born in Ipswich, was given the honorary title for her work as an advocate for nurses around the world.

She is president of the Jordan Nursing Council as well as World Health Organization patron for nursing and midwifery in the eastern Mediterranean region.

During a visit to London last week, RCN chief executive Peter Carter and president Maura Buchanan presented Princess Muna with an RCN insignia recognising her association with the college.

‘The insignia is a celebration of Princess Muna’s years of dedication to raising awareness of the contribution of nurses,’
Mr Carter said.
