An overview of acute exacerbations of COPD

This was one of the worst articles I've read in a longer time! I find it quite scary that this article was written by a university lecturer! -COPD is a common cause of morbidity for carers??? -'These patients are often very sick.' Very good wording from a healthcare professional, I feel that acutely/critical ill, sounds more professional not to mention grown up! -'more than almost 14% are dead'- again the wording used is very poor! I am a staff nurse on an admissions ward and was hoping to increase my knowledge of COPD- but this article did not met my needs.
