Staff interruptions hamper doctors' work

I am a nurse involved in releasing time to care. I was followed by my manager for a 12 hour period while I was in charge/coordinating and had a caseload of patients. Every minute of my time documented. Every hour I was inturrupted 24 times on average, with a total of approx 300 in the whole shift. Direct patient care was only 25% of the whole 12 hours. AND THE DOCTORS THINK THEY HAVE IT BAD.
