Prozac may aid stroke recovery

This is an interesting article that uses Prozac in a trial for clients suffering from an ischaemic stroke. Half of the clients were given Prozac, the remaining half given a placebo in this "double blind" trial. Both groups had physio during the 3 month course. There seemed to be a marked improvement in the client's range of movements in arms and legs, and ability to carry out daily activities in those clients who had Prozac. The trial also shows this group also suffered with side effects of nausea and other symptoms, which means careful consideration ofclients already with gastric problms may not be suitable for ths method of improving their movements.
