District Nursing has always been a 'can do' service. Lets just hope that the current system doesn't strangle this attitude with too much emphasis on the risk. Relatives don't find it easy to keep on going to hospital to visit patients and seem to have to act as advocates for them when they are there. Its just a shame that the trusts that run community services are looking to make savings from community nursing at just the time when we need to be ensuring that we are 'fit for purpose'.
