Family overnight scheme success at Morecambe Bay

The introduction of single rooms for fathers to stay with new mums is definitely an improvement on the present practice of having new fathers snoring in chairs in six bedded bays and keeping the other mothers awake! However it is tolerated by everyone because there are not enough midwives to help with baby care, especially when mother has had a LSCS and is unable to get in and out of bed easily.
