Innovative treatment 'wards off depression' in elderly

It is very important to keep service user and walking aids together. "Sit down. Come and sit down" is a communication often made from carer to device user which is very counter productive. It makes me cringe. It is extremely dangerous to spend most of your waking life in an armchair. Looking "safe" is not the same thing at all as being safe. Even throwing a bean bag around amongst a group livens people up - it causes social interaction and improves hand-eye co-ordination and response times, all of which make the carers lives easier too. And so easy!
