Cardiff hospital nurses lose car parking charge court case

Comment

I work one long shift a week now as semi retired. My pass costs me £20.00 per month as I am a band 6, so effectively £5.00 per day to park. However if there are no parking spaces I am not allowed to use the visitors car park, even if I am willing to pay again. The passes are not easy to obtain and there is a waiting list, if you do not have a pass you are not allowed to park in the visitors car parks. What happens is that staff, who all work unsocial hours, are forced to park in the roads around the hospital, generating a lot of ill will for the hospital. It is often dark when staff leave and it is not the nicest environment at night to be near an A&E; I would not want to walk far to my car.
