Lack of mental health nurses ‘underpinning’ sector's failings

Mental health nurses are leaving because everything we do is criticized, there is a massive blame culture. We are criticized for restraining patients yet when our colleagues are being seriously assaulted by patients what are we supposed to do? sit back and watch? Or safely restrain the patient so both staff and patients are safe? Staff shortages mean more assaults on nurses as we can not meet our patient needs.
