NMC email glitch may have fuelled hundreds of registration lapses


It states here that this was not noticed until the end of September 2016 however when my partner's registration lapsed at this time I spoke to the NMC and complained that the only correspondence he had had was 6 weeks previously which as we'd been on holiday went unnoticed. The next contact from the NMC was at 10 minutes past midnight on the day the registration lapsed to inform him of this which was too late for him to do anything. He was put on unpaid leave and lost almost a £1000 and that was pushing them to process the renewal as quickly as possible. He was not due to revalidate at that time however they insisted he provide evidence of ALL revalidation requirements which just fortunately he was able to do but I am sure many would have struggled.
