Managing patients with coeliac disease during a hospital stay

As a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Healthcare studies and also a Coeliac for more than 20 years I have read your article with interest. It is so good to see you draw the distinction between choices in eating foods with gluten in or not and the total abstention from gluten required by coeliacs. Whilst it has made shopping and meal planning so much easier in everyday life, hospital visits as an out patient let alone in- hospital treatment are fraught with concern about food and drink and usually lead to a large bag of bread and other necessities accompanying the likes of me. Well done for raising awareness.
