Child weighing guidance published by RCN

  • Comment

Guidance for nurses who weigh infants, children and young people in acute healthcare settings has been published by the Royal College of Nursing.

The guidance recommends only weighing children daily to indicate changes in fluid status, only removing the clothes of children younger than two and sharing measurements with primary care staff.

It is an attempt to tackle wide variations in practice and equipment used.
