Sex education book for people with learning disabilities published

Young people with learning difficulties and disabilities have new sex and relationships education materials available to them thanks to a new resource from sexual health charity Brook.

Brook has revised and updated Living Your Life, a sex education and personal development resource for young people with learning disabilities and difficulties.

Living Your Life is aimed at all adults who work with young people with learning difficulties and can be used in specialist or mainstream schools. It has been tested with young people and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities and staff working in education, health and social care settings.

The 366-page resource is made up of a series of seven modules that cover:

  • group building
  • the physical self
  • emotions
  • relationships
  • sexual expression
  • public and private
  • being healthy and staying safe
