Midwife gets on her bike to raise funds for cancer charities

A midwife who experienced a personal health scare is attempting to raise £3,000 for a range of cancer charities, starting with a sponsored bike ride last week.

Coralie Huson, a midwife in the delivery suite at Peterborough City Hospital last, undertook a stationery 100km ride in the main atrium of the hospital, raising over £250 on the day.

Ms Huson is fundraising for Women V Cancer who raises money and the profile of women’s cancer charities including Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.

“My next challenge is a sponsored bike ride in Tanzania later this year, where I will be cycling with 80 other women from 1-10 October,” she said.

“It’s going to be very different from the terrain and climate that I’m used to so I am training hard to help me deal with the African heat,” she added.

To support Ms Huson you can donate by visiting her Just Giving page.
